Oshkosh Community Dragon Boat Race and Festival

The dragons are coming back to Oshkosh and bragging rights are up for grabs. Join the fun at the second annual Oshkosh Community Dragon Boat Race and Festival as teams of 21 people (20 paddlers and one drummer to keep the pace) breathe life into these ancient Chinese dragons.

Each team of paddlers will work together as they race their 40-foot long Dragon Boat from the Main Street Bridge to the Leach Amphitheater in one of three guaranteed races throughout the day. New to the race schedule this year will be industry races where financial institutions, hospitals, and schools will race against each other.

The second annual Oshkosh Community Dragon Boat Race and Festival celebrates education, community, family, culture, and the waterways of Oshkosh. Funds raised from the event will benefit the Grand Opera House, Oshkosh Community YMCA, and UW-Oshkosh.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in both the Leach Amphitheater and Riverside Park in downtown Oshkosh. In addition to the action on the waterways there will be live entertainment for the whole family, children's activities, and plenty of food and concessions. There is no charge to watch. Teams can sign up for a minimum for three races (plus a practice session before race day) for as little as $35 per paddler.
