Funding Your Field Trip

Rising costs and shrinking school budgets can make field trips seem unattainable. Most veteran teachers, however, recognize that these trips are an important component of education.

There are ways to ease the pinch. Many organizations find educational trips to be a very worthy cause, and are happy to help schools in any way they can.

Here are some you might try approaching:

•  Parent teacher organizations
•  Local businesses
•  Service organizations
•  Individual families who might be willing to underwrite a percentage of the cost
•  Literacy groups

Financial assistance may also be obtained from The Grand through our PALs (Partners At Learning) program. Available funding is limited and offered only to schools able to demonstrate need. Awards are determined by degree of need and availability of funds at the time of request.
