Mark Shurilla's 'Day The Music Died' is an All-Star tribute to the Winter Dance Party of 1959.

tickets

This is the longest running tribute concert in the Valley. The music of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, the Big Bopper and much more. The music ended for a lot of people when Holly, Valens and the Big Bopper were killed in a small plane crash after a concert in Clear Lake, Iowa, forever a footnote in rock history because of Don MacLean's 1971 hit "American Pie", when MacLean lamented the disaster while delivering papers on his boyhood paper route.

The music of this infamous tour is captured in it's immediacy in this rollicking show, which also draws on the music of Holly's mentor, Elvis Presley (played by John Van Thiel), Johnny Cash (played by two time WAMI Award winning Liam Ford), Danny J, 'The Pavarotti of Rock' and Marvalous Marla, Phil Spector singing artist. A non -stop high energy revival!

Mark Shurilla's 'Day The Music Died' is sponsored by WVBOand WNAM.
